David Wayne Hollowell, a Texas native, was heavily influenced by the bluegrass, gospel, and traditional music styles of his grandfather. At the age of nine, he played and sang Amazing Grace before a church congregation. Further shaping of David's musical styles emerged from his attendance at Texas A&M University, where he was exposed to Americana and Texas sounds. It is was here that David began writing his own songs and playing at small venues. David continues to write songs and perform both solo and with his band, Sons of the Pines, entertaining fans with both familiar country classics, newer Americana sounds, and some David Wayne originals.
